“Sublimely melodic and intensely gorgeous”
The North Atlantic Project are back at Sprint Mill
Saturday 17th September 7.00pm for 7.30pm start.
We are so pleased to be welcoming Cheyenne, Dave and Graham back to the Mill. Their last concert here went down a treat, their incredible sounds filling the Mill was something special. Don’t miss this one, folks.
This is a free event but donations for the Musicians are most welcome! See below for further details.
Formed around a fireplace in Glasgow, this unusual combination of harp, dobro & bass combine elements of Scottish traditional music and American bluegrass and oldtime music. Alaskan Cheyenne Brown on harp brings out the Scottish flavours and Scottish Dave Currie on dobro, guitar and vocals showcases the American seasoning. But things get really exciting when the traditionally-Celtic harp stomps out a bluegrass standard with a choppy bassline, or the American-invented dobro slides through a beautiful Scottish air. The rhythmic and lyrical fretless bass of Graham Muir underpins the transitions between Americana and Scotland. The combination is truly a unique cross-genre bricolage of instruments, culture and soundscapes.
Their album Some Part of Something has been critically acclaimed as a “flawless coming together of cross-genre, mixed influence, multicultural music…sublimely melodic and intensely gorgeous” (Folkwords.com).
